About the institute
The institute was founded by leg. doctor and researcher Gunilla Klensmeden Popper. She is a specialist in psychiatry, an international educator in schedule therapy and an approved supervisor in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and the founder of The Body State Theory.
In her dissertation, she presented the results of 240 clinical interviews of adults who had been referred to a psychiatric clinic. The results showed that 47% of them had been bullied at school and that they were significantly more depressed, anxious and had lower self-esteem and more relationship problems than non-bullies.
Effective treatment of bullying-related symptoms and problems was lacking at this time, which led to the development of Body State Theory and the practical application of the theory, which in recent studies of patients with personality syndrome has been evaluated with promising results.
