Information on training in Body State Theory

The training is aimed at licensed healthcare professionals who wish to learn about Body State Theory (BST) and the practical applications that are included in the basic course and treatment. It is also possible to become certified in BST treatment.

More than half of the patients in adult psychiatry (outpatient care) have a comorbid personality disorder, usually anxious or emotionally unstable. The relational problems have their roots in childhood and are expressed as distrust of self and others, avoidance and impulsivity, etc.

A majority of patients report neglect and abuse while growing up. More than 55% (according to a study) report bullying at school. Children adapt to the needs and expectations of their parents and schoolmates with the aim of fitting in and not sticking out too much.

The education includes the basic course 13 Steps to Freedom and the textbook Body State Theory: Practical Applications ( Read more ) including a fifth chapter that provides advice and tips on psychiatric diagnostics and treatment from a BST perspective.

The education is web-based and consists of lectures and workshops. Supervision is given individually or in groups. For certification, video recordings of the exercises included in the basic course are required. The course material is protected by copyright.
